Ansel Adams’ photography is highly sought after - and with good reason, too! Ansel Adams was born in 1902 and died in 1984. He is one of the most famous American photographers of our time. He was born and grew up in California. He was born into a very wealthy San Francisco family. When he was only five years old his family lost their fortune. Ansel Adams was a genius but he was very shy. He did not attend regular school because his nose had been disfigured and he felt self-conscious so he was home schooled. It is suspected he may have been dyslexic. He read music and played the piano. Remarkably he taught himself to do this when he was twelve.

A Kodak No. 1 Brownie was responsible for Ansel Adams becoming involved in taking pictures. It could be said this camera was responsible for starting what was to become the phenomena of Ansel Adams’ photography. If you enjoy photographing nature then take a look at the work of Ansel Adams. All you have to do is visit the website. You will soon pick up this man was a true artist. His great love was Yosemite Sierra. His photographs of this region have made it famous around the world. He was also a passionate conservationist because of his great love for the outdoors.

Ansel Adams’ photography tells a story. You will see how it shows nature in a way that is remarkably whimsical even poetic. This approach is not entirely surprising because Ansel Adams was a solitary figure and he wanted his photographs to express beauty and creativity to the world. Like many other highly gifted individuals, Ansel Adams could easily work 18 to twenty hours a day for months. He described himself as a photographer, lecturer and writer. But the world will remember him as an artist who communicated through photography.

Perhaps the most special events are those that include an infant. Photography that involves the subject of babies and children is very rewarding. Being the one to capture all those special events that will be preserved for all time is an honor. Parents and grandparents are always thrilled to get perfect pictures of their beloved little ones. If you intend taking pictures of infants don’t think because they are incapable of moving around it’s going to be a breeze. It is precisely because they can’t interact very much that you have to make the subject interesting. It is up to the photographer to find something appealing and unique about the baby.

Is it starting to dawn on you that it’s not that simple? Good because then you will be a lot more aware of what you are doing. For example, if your subject is a newborn infant the little one will probably be sound asleep. But how on earth do you make a newborn infant appear interesting? Well, this where you can use your creative skills. You can place the baby in a special crib. Perhaps there is one that granddad built or one that is a family heirloom. This will immediately add interest to the shot. Infant photography can be most rewarding once you start using good ideas.

Another way to make infant photography interesting and more personal is to use a special blanket. Once again, it could be baby quilted by granny or a gift from the godparents. Arrange the blanket behind or around the sleeping infant. Remember those special christening gifts likes a baby pin or silver rattle. These objects are personal and add a meaningful touch.

You may have a special interest in the car. Photography of this subject is perhaps not quite as popular as the subjects of weddings or babies. But there is a huge potential to turn this interest into a hobby or even a business. If you are creative you will realize that this subject will give really great shots. There are so many different kinds of cars. Let’s face it there are very few people who wouldn’t jump at the chance to have a really impressive photo of their car. This is a subject that could overlap into many other categories of photography.

Examples of how car photography can overlap, is to think of weddings. Cars used for weddings are usually really special. The cars used usually fall into the luxury class or vintage class. Luxury cars are fantastic and everybody wants to own one. A wedding is a really great excuse to have one for a day. Their lines are so sleek and the colors are really classy. A bride and groom are going to look a million dollars if their wedding car is the height of luxury. The photographer must know how to make that car look its best. The trick is to get the car to be the backdrop for the bride and groom but yet have a powerful effect in the photograph.

Vintage car photography has its own special effects. The most impressive point to make about vintage cars is they are extremely unique. There are many of these cars that have the burden of being one of a handful in the entire world. These are the cars that give a period aura to a photograph. But whether the car is vintage or modern it is a subject that can be displayed with or without people in the photo.

It doesn’t seem so long ago when cameras didn’t have a zoom. In those days in order to snap a picture of a subject that was a quite a bit of a distance away it never came out as one would have hoped. Thank goodness for zoom cameras!. You can now easily capture pictures of any subject if it is a fair distance away using the zoom camera technique. The great thing is you can be quite far yet the picture comes out as if you’re only a several feet away.

What is the Zoom Camera Technique?

When your subject matter is out of range you can then apply the zoom camera technique and amplify the subject so that it appears closer. The way to do this is simple. Take a typical digital camera for example. They generally have a zoom button or lever on top of the camera, usually near where the index finger would be. You can then zoom in or out until you have the perfect potential photography. Then once you’re happy with the zoom, you may take the photo.

The ideal scanario when the zoom camera technique can be applied is for taking nature photography. I don’t know about you but I don’t think many photographers would get up close and personal to big cats, snakes or crocodiles just to get a "snap" of them. So for their own well being they would most probalby use the zoom camera technique from a safe distance.

A different case of how the camera technique for zooming is used in nature photography is in relation to flowers and plants. There are numerous plants and flowers that really are totally uniqueand out of this world. The pre-zoom cameras didn’t have the capabilities of capturing the fine details of the various flowers. However, with the advent of zoom in cameras, you can now quite easily capture the minutest of details of these flowers.

Another way the zoom camera technique can be applied is for art photography. An example of this may be when you consider a stone might look just like a stone, yet a stone consists of various minerals, and those minerals can oftentimes be quite colorful. By fully utilising a zoom of a camera, and using the camera technique properly one can easily capture stunning snapshots of the stones and they could truly look like a piece of art.

If you don’t currently have a zoom camera or are considering upgrading your existing camera then fortunately I’ve done the homework for you and selected some of the best and most afforable cameras around. To find out more and how you can purchase the cameras NOW you can just click on the camera images on this page. You’ll be pleased to know that these cameras are amongst the best rated currently and the good news is they are not reserved for the professionals who would normally spend thousands on these cameras.

Is photography one of your main hobbies or passions? If it is, how serious are you about your hobby? If you are as passionate about photography as I and many other avid photographers are then you, like me will most probably also want to learn as much about it as possible. Photography is one hobby that you can never truly stop learning about. And if you want to truly learn how to capture the most amazing photos then if you haven’t already done so you should consider attending a photography college or school.

Why Should I Bother with a Photography College

At a photography college, you don’t just learn about how to take photos, I mean any dummy can take photos at the end of the day. You will be taught the history of photography and more importantly how photography turned into what it is nowadays and where it is going in the future. At a good photography college, you will also learn about the many different kinds of photography and the varying types of cameras and this will enable you to choose a path most suited to you.

Learning the history of photography may not seem that important but to truly appreciate and gain a deeper understanding of your chosen field is a must in my opinion.

Whilst you could be accustomed to taking digital photos and subsequently printing them out on your inkjet printer, or if you use a film camera you would get them developed at your local photography store. Imagine being able to develop your own pictures, when attending photography college in a darkroom. The creativeness could be left to your imagination. For example you may discover different nuances in lighting in the photo developing stages may have drastic impact on the final result of the photo. In some instances these can result in beautiful art like images, which one cannot do at home.

In photography college you’ll also ascertain a deeper knowledge on the different components of a photographic camera. Even thought today’s cameras are different from the older models and today there are hundreds of models available on the market place they all essentially have the same or similar components. Not only will you learn about the components but you’ll determine how and why you should label these parts, and also realize inner workings of each compent so you know how they work. The side benefit of knowing the mechanics of a camera is that if in the eventuality that your camera stopped working or a part of it seemed faulty you will instantly be able to tell what the problem might be and as a result you may be able to fix the problem yourself.

Warning!! Photography for Serious People Only!

Even though I’m extolling the benefits of attending a photography college I must warn you that if you are considering it, and you think that it really is for you, you must be serious and committed to attending religiously. If you truly want to learn more about photography and can commit to the hours needed then it is highly recommended and thoroughly rewarding.

I must also warn you that the tuition fees can be quite high. And these do not even include purchase of photography equipment which are obviously a prerequisite to joing. These will invariably be in addition to your fees.

If attending a photography college seems a little prohibitive or you are only interested in learning certain aspects of photography a cheaper more practical solution might be to attend an online photography course. To find out more about one that has been researched and the one I HIGHLY recommend CLICK HERE

There are a lot of folks around who make good money through the art of digital photography. A few of them have studied photography professionally by going to a photography school. Others have developed their skills by themselves. Generally speaking all amateur and professional photographers could enhance their skills through a digital photography tutorial.

Add Quality To Your Work

Is there anything exceptional you are trying to improve within your own photography? Have you been searching for any particular digital photography techniques that can add another dimension to your skills? As an avid seeker of photography knowledge have you found any digital photography tutorial online that meets your requirements?

There are many digital photography tutorials online that you choose from. It all depends on your own skill sets. If you are looking to purchase your first camera there are tutorials available to show you how to make the right decisions. Some Digital Photography tutorials can be as advanced enough for a 20 year &#43 veteran photographers to learn from. I’ve listed a few generic lessons below:

1.Why take one shot when you can take 3, 4 or even 5 shots? – The great thing I love about digital cameras is the ability to take as many shots as you require and it doesn’t cost you a penny. This really does add to the fun factor and because you can instantly see the outcome of your picture taking you can easily get feedback and know what you need to do to improve your next shot.

2. Don’t utilize auto-white balance – Light is an extremely important element in taking a good photo;therefore you should not put white balance on automatic as this can transform all your pictures with dull light, leaving them gray and lifeless. You should, however, make the appropriate adjustments to the white light manually as this gives you full control and you should be able to achieve some natural photographs.

3. Get as near to your subject as possible – Wide-angle photos are fantastic in their own field. Here the photographs will do better to represent the subject from as close as possible. A photo, a lot of times, will be appreciated by the ability to capture the subject in larger than life poses.

4. Take care of the light for the shoot – Learn to use the exposure timing to give your photograph the best light imaginable. The majority of digital cameras nowadays have built-in sensors. Still, applying this properly is something that needs to be taught as it requires a lot of explanation endorsed by continual exercise.

5. Try out various things with the different camera angles – Don’t you find it gets a bit boring having to take pictures from straight ahead all the time? You can learn how to take good photos by not conforming to conventional photography techniques all the time. There are times when it is recommended to occasionally angle the camera in a way that adds a bit of a pizzaz to the photo.

To learn more about these techniques and other ways of improving your photography you can take an online digital photography tutorial by clicking here.

As with virtually all modern technology, there are folks who are unsure of their ability in using technology, not out of genuine concern but out of misinterpretation. It Is not the technology that induces fear as more often than not its the terminology. If you are one of these types of people who loves photography but fears technology then let me tell you don’t have to - By considering a digital photography workshop not only will you benefit from learning about actual photography techniques you will also gain a deeper understanding of the terminology and as a side benefit you will also meet other like-minded individuals who may be in the same situation as yourself.

It is alright to acknowledge you do not recognise what pixilated means or that you do not understand the difference between PPI and DPI. These are tje kinds of things you will learn at a digital photography workshop. The beauty of a digital photography workshop is almost everyone there is most likely in the same position as yourself.

What is the difference between PPI & DPI?

Among the most misinterpreted terms in the digital era of picture taking is the difference between PPI and DPI. PPI is pixels per inch and DPI is dots per inch. PPI refers to screen resolution whilst DPI addresses print resolution. Although what you view on the screen is significant, what appears on paper is probably far more important especially if it is some type of photography.

Fundamentally, the higher dots per inch will ultimately mean that the more improved the print will appear. It will depict finer detail in the printed images. PPI become more consequential whenever you would like to build something like a slide presentation, such as images on a CD/DVD where fine detail will make a difference in an actual presentation.

Hence studying at a digital photography workshop may be a thoroughly enjoyable and an eye opening experience. Understanding the difference in how a picture comes out on your PC display and what determines the quality of your printed photo can be highly rewarding . Additional areas you could also learn about when taking a digital photography workshop might include things sucs as macro photography, lighting, composition, and how to manipulate your pictures on your PC to accomplish the wanted effect, which Is not always arranging a donkey’s head on the mother-in-law’s face.

To find a digital photography workshop near you, check with your local career center or vocational school’s adult education department. Many such courses are offered free of charge with the instructor being experienced in digital photography. They may not be able to define the history and all the minute details of the technology, but they can teach you the main points you need to understand for you to get really good results out of your camera.

If for whatever reason you can’t attend a local photography workshop or if you’re a real hermit then you could always take a digital photography workshop online. One that I would recommend is Proud Photography Online Class. To find out more about it: Click Here!

Learn Digital Photography …background Removal

You can remove the background or backdrop behind an object in a picture with a process called background removal. This process can remove the background in its entirety, or you can choose sections or parts that you desire from a backdrop to be removed.

Previously, before the arrival of digital photography and the current accompanying technology, background removal was performed in a more laborious process.

It was performed in a darkroom with the necessary ambient conditions including proper room temperature. The film was submerged in working solution and was monitored constantly. Overexposure of the film to the solution could result in an increase in background blur and decrease in resolution.

Today, background removal is possible with any digital photo editing software like GNU Image Manipulation Program, or GIMP. GIMP is a special type of graphics editing application that is able to support some kinds of object-oriented (or vector) graphics.

It is not necessary that the digital photo editing software used for background removal be able to support all types of object-oriented graphics. The advantage in using GIMP of course, is that it enables easy vector to raster conversion.

Other widely used raster graphics editors and digital photo editors will also work well. Most digital photo editors are equipped with a number of plug-ins which can adjust the background in various ways. Plug-ins are computer programs with specifically dedicated purposes. Most sophisticated photo editing programs use special purpose plug-ins and will execute background editing and removal based on different criteria.

Objects without backgrounds gain a new sense of versatility and purpose. They can be placed in a new backdrop, even in a new situational context. An example would be to remove the dining room backdrop of a flower vase and replace the background with that of a hotel lobby. The object can also be moved around in any way and you can change its alignment with the new background.

The interesting thing about an object without a background is that it retains all its properties like shape and size, but makes itself more flexible to individual usage.
