What is the Zoom Camera Technique?

When your subject matter is out of range you can then apply the zoom camera technique and amplify the subject so that it appears closer.  The way to do this is simple.  Take a typical digital camera for example.  They generally have a zoom button or lever on top of the camera, usually near where the index finger would be.  You can then zoom in or out until you have the perfect potential photography.  Then once you’re happy with the zoom, you may take the photo. 

The ideal scanario when the zoom camera technique can be applied is for taking nature photography.  I don’t know about you but I don’t think many  photographers would get up close and personal to big cats,snakes or crocodiles just to get a "snap" of them.  So for their own well being they would most probalby use the zoom camera technique from a safe distance.
 
A different case of how the camera technique for zooming is used in nature photography is in relation to flowers and plants. There are numerous plants and flowers that really are totally uniqueand out of this world.  The pre-zoom cameras didn’t have the capabilities of capturing the fine details of the various flowers. However, with the advent of zoom in cameras, you can now quite easily capture the minutest of details of these flowers.

Another way the zoom camera technique can be applied is for art photography. An example of this may be when you consider a stone might look just like a stone, yet a stone consists of various minerals, and those minerals can oftentimes be quite colorful. Why Should I Bother with a Photography College

At a photography college, you don’t just learn about how to take photos, I mean any dummy can take photos at the end of the day.  You will be taught the history of photography and more importantly how photography turned into what it is nowadays and where it is going in the future. At a good photography college, you will also learn about the many different kinds of photography and the varying types of cameras and this will enable you to choose a path most suited to you.

3. Get as near to your subject as possible – Wide-angle photos are fantastic in their own field. Here the photographs will do better to represent the subject from as close as possible. A photo, a lot of times, will be appreciated by the ability to capture the subject in larger than life poses.

4. Take care of the light for the shoot – Learn to use the exposure timing to give your photograph the best light imaginable. The majority of digital cameras nowadays have built-in sensors.  Still, applying this properly is something that needs to be taught as it requires a lot of explanation endorsed by continual exercise.

5. Try out various things with the different camera angles – Don’t you find it gets a bit boring having to take pictures from straight ahead all the time? Learn Digital Photography …background Removal

You can remove the background or backdrop behind an object in a picture with a process called background removal. This process can remove the background in its entirety, or you can choose sections or parts that you desire from a backdrop to be removed.

Previously, before the arrival of digital photography and the current accompanying technology, background removal was performed in a more laborious process.

It was performed in a darkroom with the necessary ambient conditions including proper room temperature. The film was submerged in working solution and was monitored constantly. Overexposure of the film to the solution could result in an increase in background blur and decrease in resolution.

Today, background removal is possible with any digital photo editing software like GNU Image Manipulation Program, or GIMP. GIMP is a special type of graphics editing application that is able to support some kinds of object-oriented (or vector) graphics.

It is not necessary that the digital photo editing software used for background removal be able to support all types of object-oriented graphics. The advantage in using GIMP of course, is that it enables easy vector to raster conversion.

Other widely used raster graphics editors and digital photo editors will also work well. Most digital photo editors are equipped with a number of plug-ins which can adjust the background in various ways. Plug-ins are computer programs with specifically dedicated purposes. Most sophisticated photo editing programs use special purpose plug-ins and will execute background editing and removal based on different criteria.

Objects without backgrounds gain a new sense of versatility and purpose. They can be placed in a new backdrop, even in a new situational context. An example would be to remove the dining room backdrop of a flower vase and replace the background with that of a hotel lobby. The object can also be moved around in any way and you can change its alignment with the new background.

The interesting thing about an object without a background is that it retains all its properties like shape and size, but makes itself more flexible to individual usage.

Photography Lessons: Rule Of Thirds

The basic principle behind the rule of thirds is to imagine breaking an image down into thirds (both horizontally and vertically) so that you have 9 parts.

Too often, photographs have their subject placed smack in the middle, making the image look dull and uninteresting. A simple shift in composition can change all that. The Rule of Thirds is probably one of the cardinal rules of composition. Mentally divide your viewfinder or LCD screen into thirds, using two vertical and two horizontal lines to create nine smaller rectangles and four points where the lines intersect. It has been repeatedly shown that by placing objects over these intersections, a pleasing and balanced arrangement often results, whether the composition is horizontal or vertical. When an image’s center of interest is placed at one of these intersections, balance in the picture can often be achieved by placing a secondary object (known as a "counterpoint") at the opposing intersection.

Using the Rule of Thirds helps produce nicely balanced easy on the eye pictures. Also, as you have to position things relative to the edges of the frame it helps get rid of ‘ tiny subject surrounded by vast empty space’ syndrome.
One last thing about the Rule of Thirds for the time being. Once you have got the hang of the Rule of Thirds you will very quickly want to break it ! Its ok..

The Rule of Thirds is fairly structured but there are a great many methods you can employ which rely on your ability to ’see’ things and incorporate them into your composition.
